Health Professions Advising Center (HPAC)

Are you interested in pursuing a career in Healthcare? Then the Health Professions Advising Center (HPAC) is a resource designed for you! HPAC is invested in your success, both academically and professionally. By providing you with academic assistance, mentoring, advising, and support, the professional staff and peer mentors of HPAC will help you move forward towards your professional aspiration.

HPAC provides information on most of the health professions. While a lot of students are focused on one type of career in the healthcare field, such as going into medicine, HPAC workshops go over other all types of careers in healthcare! Other health professions that HPAC covers include, but not limited to, pharmacy, dentistry, podiatry, and physical therapy

In addition to the awareness of various health professions that HPAC promotes, they also have a variety of workshops pertaining to Interviews, Post-Bacc opportunities, Letters of Recommendation, etc. These workshops are provided to students for free and are very informative, especially if you would like to apply to graduate or professional school.

If you would like to gain insights on the experiences and journeys of current undergraduates who are motivated to become healthcare professionals in the future, you can talk to one of the Health Professions Peer Ambassadors! HPAC ambassadors are successful students who are trained to advise students interested in healthcare fields! Ambassadors have drop-in hours and also have available appointments that students can make.

If you’re interested in learning more about the resources HPAC provides, please visit https://se.ucr.edu/hpac/overview and sign up for a workshop! By signing up for a workshop, you also get access to meet with professional advisors who have helped people to get into their dream graduate schools!

This includes different individualized programs, specialized campus support, and available student opportunities. UCR's first- cohort was shown to have outstanding first-gen student support by the Center for First-Generation Student Success, a nationally recognized source; more information can be found here . For future reference, the links below are different sections of the Fi...
