Welcome back to the blog, Highlanders!
Happy first week of Winter Quarter! We hope everyone had a great break and New Year’s. In this week's edition of the blog, you will have the opportunity to learn more about The Well, an on-campus office here at UCR that has many benefits for students like you and me.
TO VISIT THE WELL ONLINE: https://well.ucr.edu/
What is The Well?
The Well is a UCR Department that focuses on providing UCR students tools to aid in their mental/physical wellbeing. They use programs, peer mentoring, training, and resources to attain their goal of good student health.
Is it true that The Well provides free face coverings and Wellness Kits?
Yes! The Well has made it possible for each student to pick up a Wellness Kit that includes: masks/face coverings, condoms, hand sanitizer, period products, a sleep kit, and more! You can pick up your Covid Wellness Kit either during a R’Pantry pickup session or at this link: https://ucrcovidwellness.youcanbook.me/.
What are the Virtual meetings with a Mental Health Educator?
30-minute appointments with The Well’s Mental Health Educator are available for UCR Students! These appointments discuss mental health, stress management, self-care, and time management. This non-clinical/non-therapy resource can be booked at the following link: https://thewell-58.youcanbook.me/
What is Peer-to-Peer Coaching?
Similar to the mental health educator resource previously mentioned, The Well also has a group of Certified Peer Health Educators that can also assist in mental health, time management, and self-care. This team of undergraduate educators can offer help from a younger perspective. You can book appointments here: https://thewell-4.youcanbook.me/
What is the Go! program? https://well.ucr.edu/programs/go
The Go! program was made for UCR students to track their physical activity, such as attending a SRC class or walking their pet, to earn points. Students can even compete with their classmates and friends through Go! . To increase levels, a student must increase their physical activity! Click their link for more info and instructions on how to join.
What is the R’Pantry? https://basicneeds.ucr.edu/rpantry
The R’Pantry provides food and living items to UCR students experiencing food insecurity. Items like rice, pasta, a variety of cans, and produce can be found here. During the COVID-19 pandemic, each student can visit once per week! When you visit, bring your student ID and a face mask… to book an appointment, click here: https://rpantry.youcanbook.me
Thank you for your time reading this blog... see you again in two weeks!
